Dinner for Two with Blue Apron

I’m excited to partner with Blue Apron today for a special post! My fiance and I are always trying to eat healthy but we’ve fallen into a rut of making the same meals. Blue Apron seemed like a good option for us and a good way to try new meals.

I’ve got to be honest, I was hesitant to try Blue Apron. I’m not sure why, I always thought I was a good enough cook that I didn’t need the help in the kitchen. Lucky for me, my fiance reminded me that I often cook the same meal and burn everything. Oops… I guess I could use some help in the kitchen.

Ordering with Blue Apron was really easy (sign up here to get your first week for $30). We got to choose the meals we wanted.  We selected to get three dinners for two people. Our delivery came on Friday so we were able to cook at home all weekend. The three meals we selected were Spanish-style Potato & Chickpea Stew, Za’atar- Spiced Chicken and Spaghetti Bolognese.

– This was the first meal we made. It smelled amazing! This meal was easy to make and I only used one pan! My fiance and I were surprised how much food it made! I could have sworn that the portions were bigger then two people. Neither of us finished all of it, we had enough left overs for one lunch.

Za-atar- Spiced Chicken – This was our favorite meal! It was more complicated then I expected leaving me with a ton of dishes when I finished! Again, I thought the portions were a little big but the dinner was so good!

Spaghetti Bolognese – This dinner is actually a spaghetti with a side salad.  We weren’t in the mood for a side salad so we decided not to make it and save it for another day. The potions on this meals felt perfect, we really enjoyed the spaghetti!

  • I’ve been debating trying this because I get so tired of having to come up with meal ideas! I’m a good cook and I have a large list of things I can make, but sometimes trying to decide which of those things to make takes way too much brain power. I am a bit hesitant, though, because I’m afraid of the meals being complicated and taking up too many pans, like you mentioned the one did. I actually have things I love to eat but make so rarely because they require too many pots and pans!

    • You should try it for a week and see if you like it. You can select what meals they send you, I would recommend the ones that only require one pan (less dishes!) The other thing about Blue Apron is that you only get 3 meals a week, so you can still be creative and make what you want other nights! I would recommend trying it out!
