The season of hibernation is here and getting out for a true date night is getting harder and harder! Since getting married my husband and I haven’t been out on as many date nights as I would have hoped so I’m pulling together so date night ideas to share (and for us to do!)
Winter Date Night Ideas in Chicago:
Neighborhood Bar Crawl: No matter where you live in the city, I’m confident there is a bar or two in walking distance. I have one mapped out for our new neighborhood and we’ve been wanting to go for the past month but one of us has either felt sick or it’s been -5 so going outside isn’t fun.
Movie Night: Award show season is officially upon us and all the good movies are coming out! Since it was too cold to go on our bar crawl the past few weeks we went to see a few movies. So far we’ve seen Pitch Perfect 3 (not an award show movie but really funny none the less) and Coco. Coco was soooo good and can’t recommend it enough! This weekend we are thinking about going to The Post.
Ax Throwing: We went a few weeks ago for my husbands birthday and it was so much fun! We went with a few other friend and played for an hour. It kind of reminds me of bowling in the sense that most people aren’t good but you get a little better the more you try. We went to Thunderbolt Axe Throwing, it was $20 a per/ per hour.
Restaurant Week: Chicago’s restaurant week is coming up soon and there are going to be so many great opportunities to get into top places. Lakeshore Lady just did a recap about the best of Chicago restaurant week. I recommend booking a dinner or two now!
Brooklyn Boulders: Katie and I went here last year and it was really fun but really hard. I honestly thought I was going to be a rock star climber but that was not the case. Instead, I stuck to the beginner option while Katie advanced to the harder ones. I wouldn’t mind going to Brooklyn Boulders with my husband and watching his cute butt as he climbs up the walls! (I recommend that you check Groupon for the best rates)
Here are some of my past date night ideas.
