I want to start sharing more about entertaining because my fiancé and I love to host a good party! There is something so fun about opening our home to friends and inviting them in to eat, drink and be merry!

This past weekend the weather was amazing in Chicago so we decided to have a little impromptu party. To make things easy for ourselves we used a pre-made cheese plate that we put it on this board. For any party we host, I like make something easy (read between the lines: sometimes I cheat to make it easier for myself!)

I partnered with Drizly to make a Gin cocktail – we made a Summer Babe. If you aren’t familiar with Drizly, it’s an app that allows you to get your favorite beer, wine or alcohol delivered to your home. You choose what you want, schedule your delivery then simply present your ID when they arrive. It’s really easy, their selection is amazing and it’s great when you don’t have time to run to the store.
My fiancé and I like a good Gin and Tonic in the summer so with the warm weather we know we wanted a gin cocktail. We found a recipe for a Summer Babe online and decided that would be the perfect one! We picked out Monkey 47 Dry Gin from Drizly and promptly got it delivered to our apartment. I found these glasses at a local consignment store and I’m obsessed — the ombre coloring is so fun! I knew they would be perfect for our impromptu party!

Summer Babe Cocktail:
- 3 parts Monkey 47 Dry Gin
- 1 part Lillet Blanc
- 1 part freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
- 1 part freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 2 drops bitters
- Garnish with a grapefruit wedge
I got both the Monkey 47 Dry Gin and Lillet Blanc from Drizly, they have’t a great selection!
